BigFirst Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 27, 2026
In short: BigFirst does not collect, upload, or share any of your personal data. All calculations happen on your iPhone, and the app itself never connects to the internet.
What data the app reads
BigFirst needs your permission to access your Photos library (Full Access, or only the photos you select). It uses this access to:
- Read the file size, type, resolution, duration, and capture date of each photo and video, so it can sort them by size and show them in a list.
- Show thumbnails and previews, so you can confirm which item you are about to delete.
- Delete items through the standard iOS deletion flow, only after you select and confirm them.
BigFirst does not read your Hidden album, and it does not analyze the content of your photos (such as faces, locations, or text).
Where data is stored
- Size cache: To open faster next time, the app keeps a record of each item’s identifier, size, type, and date in its own folder. The cache contains no photo or video content and stays only on your device. You can clear it in the app with “Clear Cache and Rescan,” and it is also removed when you delete the app.
- Preferences: Settings such as your chosen sort order are also stored only on your device.
Network and third parties
- BigFirst has no servers and contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking tools. It does not track your activity in other apps or on websites.
- When you tap “Load from iCloud” on an item’s detail screen, the original file is downloaded from your iCloud by the iOS Photos service. It does not pass through the developer.
- Tapping “Privacy Policy” or “Support & Feedback” in the app opens this website in Safari. This website is hosted on GitHub Pages, and GitHub may keep standard website access logs under its own policies.
Before you delete photos
- Deleted items move to Recently Deleted in the Photos app, where you can recover them for 30 days. Storage space is only freed after Recently Deleted is emptied, and after that the items can no longer be recovered.
- If iCloud Photos is turned on, deletions sync to all of your devices. Items in an iCloud Shared Photo Library are deleted from the libraries of all participants.
Children’s privacy
BigFirst does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.
