BigFirst Support & FAQ
Photos and videos sorted by size, so you can delete the biggest first
BigFirst lists the photos and videos in your Photos library by file size, from largest to smallest, so you can see at a glance what takes up the most space and delete items one at a time or several at once. All calculations happen on your iPhone.
Frequently asked questions
I deleted something by mistake. How do I get it back?
Deleted items first move to Recently Deleted, where you can recover them for 30 days. Open the Photos app, tap Collections, and tap Recently Deleted in the Utilities section. Unlock it with Face ID or your passcode, select the items, then tap Recover.
I deleted items. Why didn’t my free storage go up?
Deleted items still take up space while they are in Recently Deleted. The space is only freed after you empty Recently Deleted. Once it is emptied, the items can no longer be recovered, so please check first.
Why is the total size larger than what iPhone Storage shows?
BigFirst calculates sizes from the original files. If Optimize iPhone Storage is turned on, the originals are kept in iCloud and only smaller versions stay on your iPhone, so the space actually used on your iPhone may be smaller. When you delete an item, its original in iCloud also moves to Recently Deleted.
Why do I have to wait the first time I open the app?
The first time, the app reads the size of each item one by one. Videos are sorted first, and photos are added after them. If you have a lot of photos, this may take a few minutes. After that, the app uses its cache, so results appear almost instantly.
Why do I only see some of my photos?
You may have chosen Limited Access. Tap “Select More Photos” in the notice at the top of the app, or find BigFirst in the Settings app and change its Photos access to Full Access.
Why can’t I see photos in my Hidden album?
To protect your privacy, BigFirst never reads the Hidden album.
Why does a size start with “≥” or show “Size Unknown”?
It means the system did not provide the size of every file for that item, so the number is only a minimum. Tap the item to open its detail screen, and if needed, tap “Calculate Size.”
